Who: Any Pole Vault Elite member, but space is limited to 10-12 athletes in our party (other athletes can attend and we will coach but the travel, housing, meet registration, food, etc. is your responsibility)

Details
As many of you know, our biggest and most exciting trip of the year is around the corner. The Grand Haven Beach Vault will take place in Grand Haven, Michigan. If you are new to Pole Vault Elite or perhaps have never heard of Beach Vault, allow us to paint you a picture:
It begins Wednesday, with a morning practice at club followed by a pre-departure team meeting and brown bag lunch. We (Coaches and Chaperones) along with registered athletes then load into our vehicles and make the trip north to Grand Haven, Mich. We unload, unpack and briefly unwind at our condo located literal steps away from downtown Grand Haven before a team meeting. From there, athletes are free to explore Grand Haven and grab dinner while the adults get groceries, get organized and have dinner themselves. Then, on Thursday, the arguable highlight of the trip kicks off – Beach. Vault. Olympics. Think minute-to-win-it games, scavenger hunts, cookout lunch, and general organized chaos while you compete against others to win the Beach Vault Gold. We spend all day (literally) Friday and Saturday on the beach watching and competing in a one-of-a-kind pole vault only event. On Sunday, we pack our bags and clean our condo to make the fully exhausted trip home and return broken teens to their parents. On Monday, we nurse our Beach Vault hangover and start sharing our “Remember that one time at Beach Vault when…” stories.
Beach Vault has been a life changing trip. For our athletes, their families and our coaches. For many athletes, it is their first major trip away from home without Mom and Dad. For some, it is their own adrenaline junkie version of summer camp. For all, it’s an opportunity to create new lifelong friendships and memories.
For parents – we know it can be intimidating to hear your athlete is staying in a co-ed condo, miles away from home, for basically a week. We know the term “Beach Vault hangover” may be a little alarming. We coined this term to describe the utter exhaustion and sheer happiness that coaches, chaperones and athletes alike experience after returning home from four straight days of too much sunshine, not enough sleep and more sand in places you never knew existed. We apologize in advance to your vacuum cleaners, washing machines and cars. Rest assured we have STRICT house rules that each athlete must adhere to. Men and women will each have their own separate sleeping floors with private bathrooms for each gender. Athletes are not permitted to travel away from the condo/beach alone at any time. Athletes must be with another teammate or coach/chaperone when leaving the condo AND all athletes must regularly check in with coaches/chaperones during their free time. Rookies (first time attendees) are paired with Veterans (repeat attendees) on Wednesday upon arrival in Grand Haven so that our vets may help our rookies get acquainted with their boundaries in town. Collin and his wife, Katie, are the on-site chaperones each day/night at the condo. We promise to return your athlete to you in mostly one piece but likely changed for the better as a result of their time with our squad in a truly beautiful environment.
