Reno 2024

Notes:

    • Before we leave
      • Submit poles request ASAP (after this meeting) – http://www.polevaultelite.com/poles
      • Poles must be packed on Monday, January 8th (after the 6:00pm practice)
      • YOU are responsible for making sure your poles are packed. If you do not attend the pole packing session your poles may not make it in the bag.
      • Each athlete will have the $150 for pole transportation fee added to their account. ($75 each way).
    • Team Dinner
      • Thursday (will everyone arrive in time)
        and/or
      • Friday @ Live stock arena
    • Friday – Wear PVE apparel
    • Competition Info (USATF Rules)
      • Standard Settings (One: 18in, Two: 24in, Three:32in)
      • Warmups, Run Throughs, Increments
        • Later in the day may get less warmups if they run behind
        • Run throughs may (very likely) be after 1 hour (not 3 passed heights) or may not be an option at all, as USATF rules it’s “optional”
        • Increments may not be @ 0’s and 6′
          • Last year they were 2’s and 8’s I believe
          • May also be different from pit to pit
    • Access to Elite athletes
      • Autographs (ideas — matted frames — stubbies — ??)
    • Elevators
    • Representing PVE (Don’t suck)
      • National Level Competition
      • USATF board contains MANY Collegiate coaches and to be collegiate coaches
      • Warning – Mob mentality
        • We all become idiots in groups of 3 or more
        • Some become idiots in groups of 2 or more
    • Remind 101 (please everyone join — this is how I’ll send out updates when we are in Reno — and before)

    Thursday (1/11)

    Collin lands at 4ish
    Langfords/Smiths land @ 5ish
    1pm – 6pm Registration Opens
    – Volunteer to get Collin/Smiths/Langfords credentials / registration packet
    ?? Dinner @ 7pm or 7:30pm at Mexican restaurant ?

    Friday (1/12) (schedule based on last years — subject to change)

    8:00am – Meet for General Assembly
    – Need people to be there early to reserve seats
    8:30am – General Assembly
    9:45 – 10am Short break (relocate to your assigned location)
    12:30 – Parent Session (Celebrity show room)

    10:15 Learn By Doing
    11:30 Lunch

    Apparel – Black Warmups w/ RWB to compete
    Competition schedule will be on credentials during packet pickup
    After all of our competitions all athletes will need to put poles in the “to the airport” pile.
    Team Photo after competition (everyone should be in Black TeamPVE warmups)
    Short debriefing before leaving livestock
